Abstract
► Ethyl acetate from waste gases was successfully removed using a membrane bioreactor. ► A maximum elimination capacity of 225 g m−3 h−1 at an EBRT of 60 s was observed. ► Ethanol was detected as by-product of the ethyl acetate biodegradation. ► A biomass yield coefficient of 0.80 gC gC−1 was calculated by the CO2 production.
