Abstract
⺠Sugarcane residues (bagasse and trash) are currently used for electricity production. ⺠We evaluated the integrated 1st and 2nd generation ethanol production from sugarcane. ⺠The use of the whole sugarcane plant significantly improves process feasibility. ⺠Improved technologies crucial for 2nd generation ethanol competitiveness.
