Abstract
⺠Both lignin content and delignification method affect enzymatic hydrolysis. ⺠Sodium chlorite delignification effectively improves the digestibility of softwood. ⺠Delignification increases accessible pore volume in biomass. ⺠Hydrolysis levels off at 15% lignin content, which correspond 0.30 g/g pore volume.
