Abstract
⺠A novel system for the production of lipases from industrial wastes using SSF has been studied under pilot-scale conditions. ⺠The extraction of lipases was optimized using an experimental design technique. ⺠Fermented solid wastes presented an extremely high lipolytic activity. ⺠Extracted lipases were systematically studied using experimental design techniques. ⺠They showed interesting properties such as high thermostability.
