Abstract
► Stable continuous fermentation by the newly isolated Caloramator boliviensis. ► Fermentative conversion of cellobiose, xylose, and bagasse hydrolysate into ethanol. ► The sugar to ethanol conversion efficiency ranged from 63% to 90%. ► Ethanol yields of 0.34-0.39 g/g were achieved by xylose fermentation. ► Higher ethanol yields (0.40-0.46 g/g) were achieved by fermentation of bagasse hydrolysate.
