Abstract
► We have characterized and stabilized a new alcohol dehydrogenase from Thermus thermophillus. ► Tt27-ADH2 has the same optimal pH (pH 7) for both reduction and oxidation reactions. ► Tt27-ADH2 asymmetrically reduces 2,2′,2″-trifluoroacetone with anti-Prelog specificity. ► Tt27-ADH2 produces R-profens derivative by asymmetric reduction of aryl-propanal. ► Tt27-ADH2 is 200-fold more stable than the soluble enzyme by immobilization.
