Abstract
⺠We have characterized and stabilized a new alcohol dehydrogenase from Thermus thermophillus. ⺠Tt27-ADH2 has the same optimal pH (pH 7) for both reduction and oxidation reactions. ⺠Tt27-ADH2 asymmetrically reduces 2,2â²,2â³-trifluoroacetone with anti-Prelog specificity. ⺠Tt27-ADH2 produces R-profens derivative by asymmetric reduction of aryl-propanal. ⺠Tt27-ADH2 is 200-fold more stable than the soluble enzyme by immobilization.
