Abstract
⺠Lab scale auger pyrolyzer using a steel shot heat carrier is described. ⺠Response surface methodology was used to optimize process parameters for bio-oil. ⺠We studied heat carrier temperature and flow rate, auger speed, gas flow rate. ⺠A novel interaction effect between heat carrier and auger speed was discovered. ⺠Liquid yields greater than 73 wt.% were achieved.
