Abstract
► Pyrolytic characteristics of acid hydrolysis residue (AHR) of wood and corncob are investigated. ► Gasification reactivity of char from corncob hydrolysis residue (CAHR) is examined. ► Mass loss curves of AHR descend smoothly from 150 °C to 850 °C due to its high lignin content. ► CAHR reactivity char can be effectively improved through steam gasification at high temperature. ► Long residual time in gasifier is preferred for AHR gasification.
