Abstract
► A low-cost mobile screening device can upgrade coarse wood chips to residential user standards. ► The device proved effective with chips obtained from SRF. ► Screening improved the particle-size distribution of crushed wood, but failed to upgrade it to residential user standards. ► Screening was cost-effective and accrued a profit of 4.7 € odt−1.
