Abstract
► Bioaugmentation to achieve P-removal in a nitrification/denitrification system. ► Two months of operation with biological P-removal in a PAO bioaugmented N/D system. ► The microbial community evolution was quantified using FISH with eight different probes. ► Anoxic/aerobic SBR configuration with PAO bioaugmentation allows P and N removal. ► A longer aerobic phase is required in the bioaugmented system to reduce rising.
