Abstract
⺠Detoxification of biomass for improved enzymatic hydrolysis and fermentation. ⺠Novel technologies: polyelectrolyte adsorption and resin-wafer electrodeionization. ⺠Removal of aldehydes, organic acids, and mineral acids without overliming. ⺠Dramatically improved yields and rates for both hydrolysis and fermentation. ⺠Statistical analyses show significant primary and secondary interaction effects.
