Abstract
⺠Large biomass of Jatropha seed cake is generated during biodiesel production. ⺠The de-oiled cake is toxic, hence can't be utilized as feed or fertilizer. ⺠The toxicity is mainly attributed to the presence of phorbol esters. ⺠A SSF process is developed for phorbol esters removal by Pseudomonas aeruginosa PseA. ⺠SSF is a viable process and the detoxified cake may find better usage.
