Abstract
Previous publications of the authors introduced the homogenization theory of mammoth silos and process dynamics as an indicator of the homogenization efficiency of mammoth silos. Here, it is shown that process dynamics can be used for estimating the homogenization efficiency mainly for silos with a large H/D, given a negative exponential auto correlation function for modeling of the input properties. For smaller silos with equal volume process dynamics underestimates the homogenization results, due to the existence of top and bottom cones.
