Abstract
Corrosion inhibition behavior of (S)1-N-(1-hydroxy-1,1-diphenyl-3-methylbut-2-yl)-2-hydroxybenzaldimine (DPV) and (S)1-N-(1-hydroxy-3-methylbut-2-yl)-2-hydroxybenzaldimine (LV) on high carbon steel in 1.0 M HCl solution was studied using electrochemical techniques. The adsorption mechanism was studied by FT-IR, WAXD and adsorption isotherms techniques. The values of ÎGads depict that inhibitors adsorbed on the HCS surface via both physisorption and chemisorption mechanism.
