Abstract
- Water dispersible polyurethanes were synthesized from PEG and HDI using the conventional prepolymer method.
- Aqueous polyacrylates were synthesized by addition polymerization method and their blends were prepared with polyurethanes.
- Thermal stability of the synthesized blended polyurethane/polyacrylate resins was found to be due to presence of urea and amide linkages.
- Macrodiol used for the synthesis of prepolymer polyurethane, enhanced the solvent resistance of polyurethane/polyacrylate blend resin films.
- Aliphatic diisocyanates used as monomers for synthesis of blended resins increased the glossiness of blended polymer resin films.
