Abstract
The U.S. electric industry and its customers face tremendous costs, risks, and liabilities in the years ahead, due to uncertainties about fuel prices, environmental regulations, developing markets, and transmission capabilities. A recent study of the Interior West shows how clean and efficient energy resources can reduce costs, help mitigate risks, and avoid liabilities by promoting a more balanced, stable, low-cost electricity industry.
