Abstract
The 2005 Spring Meeting of the Japan Society of Applied Physics (JSAP) was held at the end of March at Saitama University, a 90 minute commute from central Tokyo. In spite of the chilly weather about 8000 participants from Japanese academia, industry and government research centres presented their latest results and took full advantage of the four day conference to catch up with latest developments in topics ranging from quantum information technology to the role of women in physics. This review covers the areas of opto-quantum electronics, carbon nanotubes and nitride based power devices.
