Abstract
In this paper, the lightning electromagnetic field in the entire space is calculated by a modified finite difference time-domain approach. Different from issued results, which operate the electromagnetic field only at some discrete points near the ground, the electromagnetic field and its derivatives at every point in the whole space are calculated and expressed into groups of pictures. Moreover, the spatial characteristic of the peak value of electromagnetic field, time derivatives, power flow density and electric density is investigated.
