Abstract
⺠A 3D numerical approach has been validated in the laser surface remelting (LSR). ⺠The LSR of an Al-1.5 wt%Fe alloy has shown a stable Al-Al3Fe aligned eutectic. ⺠The hardness of the resolidified layer has increased significantly. ⺠The resolidified layer had a significant increase in the corrosion resistance.
