Abstract
We propose two types of fiber-optics multiplexed interferometric sensor to monitor electrical currents of the power systems on different situations. With different operating frequencies, sensor responses of the power lines can be analyzed directly by the first type of the multiplexed current sensor. Only a standard powered broadband light source is needed in this case to attain significant non-crosstalk effect of at least two pieces of the sensors. On the other hand, the second type of the multiplexed current sensor is proposed to monitor the power lines with same operating frequency. This sensor has achieved good uniformity and linear responsivity at an average of about 0.069 mV/A-turns, which is 2.7 dB better than previous reports.
