Abstract
In the present study, two dimensionless models for the response of a thermocouple disturbance are proposed. The first model concerns the response to a step perturbation, while the second deals with the periodical case. The effects of the Biot number, the position of the thermocouple's hot-junction, and the radius of the protective sheath are investigated and discussed. Some recommendations regarding the range of Biot number and position of the hot-junction are given. For the periodical case, the transfer functions serving as a tool for correcting the signals delivered by the thermocouples in a real-time regulation systems are also provided.
