Abstract
Dielectric dispersion is a common behavior of materials which can be explained on the basis of the electromagnetic theory and the electron theory of substances. In this paper the anomalous behavior of the analog multiplier chips observed during an experiment is explained as due to the dielectric dispersion effects of the semiconductor material used in the IC chips. These behaviors, which occurred at acoustic resonant frequencies of the material, are observed repeatedly and recorded through an experimental arrangement. The reasons of these behaviors are also explained with a theoretical model. The graphical analysis of a simulated circuit of the multiplier IC chip using MATLAB software supports the experimental results.
