Abstract
The failure of titanium condensers used in Yangzi Petrochemical Co. Ltd. was analyzed by experiment and calculation. It was concluded that fluid-induced vibration in the tube bundle resulted in the fatigue damage of titanium tubes in condensers. Structure adjustments to reduce vibration were presented to the design of the titanium condensers. Also the critical manufacturing technology was studied by tests and analysis.
