Abstract
- Present a new phase approach using a constitutive material model based on the SCM to account for material composition, α-β phase transformation in chip segmentation during machining.
- Implement this model in FE framework to evaluate the effects of material property, machining parameters and tool geometry on the strains, temperatures and β volume fractions in chip segmentation.
- Confirm that these factors have different effects on chip segmentation and machined surface in terms of temperatures and their associated α-β phase transformation.
