Abstract
The design of the first industrial rocket engine (IRE) and an IRE propelled forge hammer are described. The new technological capabilities of the IRE propelled hammers like a “sticking impact”, dynamic regulation of the deformation process parameters, and minimization of the manufacturing drain are discussed. The conditions for the “sticking impact“ and for the “ideal hammer” are given.
