Abstract
⺠A novel technique, termed SPMO, was proposed for grain refinement. ⺠As-cast structure of pure aluminum can be grain refined by the SPMO process. ⺠The origin of equiaxed grains under the SPMO was investigated. ⺠The formation of structural features was described and discussed.
