Abstract
⺠Single discharges in WEDM are strongly influenced by the applied relative speed. ⺠The plasma easily slides over the workpiece/anode generating elongated craters. ⺠The shape of the elongated crater indicates how fast the crater radius expands. ⺠The amount of eroded volume per crater increases as relative speed is increased. ⺠Simulation results indicate higher melting efficiencies for higher relative speeds.
