Abstract
The problem of the asymptotic stability of a linear system, whose parameters belong to a certain set, is considered. Stability criteria for a number of typical special cases are obtained. The results should find application when investigating the dynamics of mechanical systems with constraints, as shown by the example of the oscillations of a slider on a rough plane.
