Abstract
The problem of reinforcing an infinite thin elastic plate with a circular cut-out by means of a concentric circular patch attached to the plate so that the circumferences of the cut-out and the patch overlap is solved. The stress state in the plate and in the patch, generated by stresses at infinity in the plane of the plate, is investigated. Examples are presented.
