Abstract
This paper investigates the variation of springback in high strength steels due to material anisotropy. Numerical and experimental investigations are conducted and results from both are analyzed and discussed. Material models based on Barlat's yield criteria, Hill's transverse anisotropic model and von Mises' yield criteria are compared based on analysis using the geometry of a standard U-shape from NUMISHEET'93. The results not only show the discrepancy between springback predicted by the various material models, but also show the variability of springback with respect to the orientation of the anisotropic steel sheet.
