Abstract
⺠We describe how to use screw theory to synthesize flexure-based transmission mechanisms. ⺠We demonstrate how to create kinematically compatible transmission trains. ⺠The theory for calculating and tuning transmission ratios is provided. ⺠We describe how to synthesize transmission mechanisms with multiple inputs/outputs. ⺠Principles for decoupling input and output actuators are introduced.
