Abstract
This Note is an experimental and numerical study of the fracture of a quasi-isotropic laminate. It is shown that a local criteria fail to predict accurately such a fracture in the presence of large stress gradients. Good agreement is obtained with a nonlocal criteria involving a characteristic length which is determined experimentally. To cite this article: N. Lahellec et al., C. R. Mecanique 333 (2005).
