Abstract
⺠A first numerical study on the effect of a porous titanium femoral prosthesis on bone remodeling. ⺠Bone loss around the implant strongly depends on the value of the elastic modulus of the prosthesis. ⺠The bone volume with density loss and the bone loss rate decrease with the increase of the porosity.
