Abstract
⺠Behavior of crack growth in magnesium alloy plate with a through crack is studied. ⺠Result of fatigue tests on specimens with different inclined notches is presented. ⺠A new maximum ratio criterion, Z-criterion is developed to study fatigue cracks. ⺠Result obtained by new maximum ratio criterion is acceptable as compared to tests. ⺠New maximum ratio criterion is effective in predicting mixed mode fatigue crack.
