Abstract
⺠Surface roughness of AZ91 magnesium alloy plays a critical role in the passivation behaviour of the alloy. ⺠The passivation behaviour of the alloy influences the pitting tendency. ⺠Increase in surface roughness of AZ91 magnesium alloy increases the pitting tendency of the alloy.
