Abstract
⺠A unique combination of HSLA steel and 347 grade austenitic stainless steel were weld overlay clad. ⺠A novel technique of friction welding used and tensile & impact properties of the interface studied. ⺠Weld overlay clad joint was stronger than explosive clad joint for this combination of steels.
