Abstract
This article takes research on a novel design of multiband microstrip patch antenna. The proposed multiband microstrip patch antenna can resonate at 7 unique frequencies between 4Â GHz and 14Â GHz. To accomplish multiband frequency, a rectangular slot can be inserted in the ground plane of the patch antenna. It can achieve the reflected power of â19.58Â dB, â15.24Â dB, â20.12Â dB, â19.27Â dB, â27.13Â dB, â14.46Â dB and â25.69Â dB at 4.30Â GHz, 5.51Â GHz, 6.42Â GHz, 8.55Â GHz, 9.55Â GHz, 11.47Â GHz, and 12.58Â GHz, respectively. The obtained bandwidth is good and better voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) is less than 2. The performance of proposed multiband antenna is simulated and validated by measurements. Furthermore, the effectiveness of proposed multiband patch antenna has been verified through surface current distribution and efficiency of measured results.
