Abstract
A WDM-PON based on a central single-fiber ring and secondary trees is presented and demonstrated. With the proposed architecture, both protection and dynamic wavelength assignment can be realized. The central ring can provide protection for the feeder fiber. The design of the Remote Node (RN) can realize the function of dynamic wavelength assignment. This architecture is designed mainly for large-scale networks in the next generation.
