Abstract
⺠Neat and clean chemical derivatization of polycarbonate membrane. ⺠Sandwich immunoassay was developed on mPC. ⺠Detection of whole cell S. typhi bacteria was done without any pre-enrichment. ⺠Sensitivity of 2000 cells/ml was achieved which is below infectious dose. ⺠Covalent binding of Abs amplified signal and abated leaching. ⺠The assay was found to be better than qualitative kits available in markets.
