Abstract
► A new-type biocathode MFC with high OCV and low Rint was developed for manure. ► Electricity from diary manure was generated at a maximum power output of 15.1 W m−3. ► TCOD removal and CE of MFC could reach 39.6 ± 4.1% and 39.8 ± 1.6%, respectively. ► Microbial communities on anode and cathode were analyzed by 454 pyrosequencing technique.
