Abstract
⺠We created finite element models to simulate aortic valves that are normal or with leaflet prolapse. ⺠Current surgical leaflet correction techniques were implemented in the insufficient valve models. ⺠Current techniques do not adversely affect the dynamic properties of the repaired valves. ⺠Only leaflet resuspension restores normal competence, stress and orifice and coaptation areas.
