Abstract
⺠An economic model of child development with multiple stages is considered. ⺠There is incomplete information. ⺠Hence, parents are not able to tailor their investments to their child's type when the child is young. ⺠Incomplete information strengthens the importance of early investments in children when substitution of inter-stage investments is difficult.
