Abstract
The importance of the psychosocial factors during evaluation of quality of life of HIV-infected patients is still unknown and largely underestimated. In this paper, we confront the subjective assessment of quality of life with the variation of a several social and psychosocial factors that can affected quality of life. Statistical analyses were performed with data of a cohort. This cohort includes patients when they began highly active antiretroviral therapy. ANCOVA and GEE were used in order to identify factors relating to the personal and social identity having an impact on the quality of life of HIV-infected patients. These results highlight the absolute need for a global follow-up of these patients in order to optimise quality of life in the long term.
