Abstract
⺠We investigated the functions of rumination and worry in sleep disturbance. ⺠We examined the prospective associations between repetitive thought and sleep. ⺠Rumination and worry interact to predict reduction in sleep quality over time. ⺠The combination of rumination and worry is a serious risk factor for insomnia.
