Abstract
⺠Those with OCD appraised failures in thought control more negatively. ⺠Negative appraisal of failures in thought control predicted thought persistence in those with PD/A and OCD. ⺠Mood state declined for those with OCD, but not those with PD/A. ⺠Negative appraisal of thought recurrences may be an important target in OCD treatment.
