Abstract
► A meta-analysis of IRT and exposure-based interventions for nightmares was computed. ► High effects were found for nightmare frequency & nights per week with nightmares. ► Moderate effects were found for sleep quality, anxiety, and depression. ► Duration of exposure moderates several outcome measures. ► Dismantling studies are necessary to investigate the effective components of IRT.
