Abstract
⺠Imagery Rescripting involves an imagined change in the course of events of (traumatic) childhood events. ⺠This leads to a powerful change of meaning and emotional processing of childhood events that contributed to the disorder. ⺠In the treatment of Personality Disorders the therapists takes initially the lead to meet the child's needs. ⺠When the patient has developed stronger healthy schemas, the patient gradually takes the lead in rescripting. ⺠The technique can also be used for present or anticipated negative events.
