Abstract
This paper deals with the object of psychoanalysis, trying to define the elementary conditions of this object in both practice and theory. The author emphasizes the notion of the object as a lack, and the concepts of repression and transference. He showns how the psychoanalytic conception of the object could enlighten some aspects of the contemporary clinical field.
