Abstract
▶ Repeated cleaning did not impact on memory accuracy. ▶ Participant's memory confidence for the control items improved. Memory confidence for the repeatedly cleaned items was unchanged. ▶ Repeated cleaning did not change on confidence in the perceived cleanliness. ▶ Participants were no more likely to eat from repeated cleaned or control objects.
