Abstract
⺠The vasodilator niacin increased facial blood flow during embarrassment. ⺠Niacin did not affect somatic symptoms or mood ratings. ⺠Cognitive appraisals or negative affect may override more subtle physiological cues of blushing in embarrassing situations.
